Upon inspection the dryer wouldnt start. Customer attempted repair but had an arc at the start switch. I first reconnected the switch and ran a test. Says that the unit is physically damaged and won't drain. Tech inspected and found a major lean occurring with the tub. Removed lid and shocks are damaged. Tech leaned washer back and tried to turn the pump by hand. Pump successfully turns. Tech laid washer back on the ground and started a cycle to test operations. Drain pump powers on and drains out all standing water. Unit refills with water, runs the whole cycle with our issue. Lean to the tub is occurring as machines leveling feet are not adjusted correctly. Tech explained findings and customer will have her son adjust the feet. Customer complaint is that unit is leaving a lot of aids in the clothes and doesnt seem to be draining. Checked error codes and have a 21 slow drain error and a f2 too much suds error code. Customer is only filling the detergent cap to the first line and uses warm and hot cycles. Ran unit in diagnostics and unit is sudsing up with no detergent added. Unit fills properly and drains properly. Drain error is likely due to sud causing the pressure sensor to read incorrectly. Suds in the unit is from a build up of soap over time and recommendation would be to run the clean washer cycle once a month to help prevent a build up of soap in the washer. Also if the home water softener is turned up high it can cause sudsing issues as well. Job complete.

Customer states unit is producing slowly. Turned unit on. Took 29 minutes to indicate harvest which is proper. Slab of ice getting stuck on evap plate causing water to start circulating and leak over ice and into bin. Checked unit is level. Recommended customer run cleaning cycle.

"Customer says that the washer is intermittently leaking. Enough water on 2 or 3 occasions that she had to throw towels onto the floor to mop up the leak. Tech inspected and can see dust displaced behind machine, indicating leaking has occurred. Tech looked for source of leaking and it appears to be originating from the atmospheric vent. Tech started diagnostics to check unit operations. Spin speed is proper, fill level is proper, agitation is proper, recirculation is proper, and drainage is proper. Checked vent and tech can see a small amount of water escaping from the vent. Machine was run empty with no detergent, so water should not be escaping through the vent. Tech removed the lid and checked vent for a damaged or missing mushroom valve. With vent bellows pulled back, tech found no issues with valve position or installation. Wash should not be leaking from this device under normal circumstances. Tech ran test cycles again and more moisture is seen exiting from the vent system even with no items and no detergent inside. Tech believes that the slanted wash tub of the washer (instead of being completely horizontal) is allowing water to splash into the vent bellows. Vent bellows also is not flat, and the slope of the vent hose is directing water to leak out onto the floor instead of draining back into the machine. Tech checked for bulletins and known issues and nothing is documented by the manufacturer for this model number. Tech is not sure that this issue can be fixed with parts as it appears to be caused by the design of the unit. Tech discussed with customer and asked what she would like to do. Customer is very upset with her purchase and says she has been working with the dealer on an exchange so that she can go back to a topload washer and eliminate these concerns. Tech has no repair recommendations at this time as leak is occurring during normal usage of the unit and is not a result of damage, misuse, or improper installation."

"Unit is not defrosting. Forced defrost and heater does come on. No errors for defrost sensor, and defrost sensor is reading incorrectly spec. There is a bulletin for the sensor not making proper contact with the evaporator due to a broken clip and the defrost sensor clip is broken and sensor loose in evaporator. Recommend properly rescuing the defrost sensor to the evaporator so that it is getting the proper reading."

Upon inspection the washer had been rattling during a cycle. I first checked the drum and found no signs of bearing or spider gear wear. Went ahead and installed both new rework kits tested unit. Unit is operating properly.

"Customer states that the washer won't drain and is getting out of balance easily. Is also banging around. Tech inspected unit and found that the tub weights have broken on the front of the tub. Left side tub weight has water staining under it as the tub has cracked. Right side tub weight bolt is seen laying inside the door and is snapped in half. Ran tests and drain pump is locked up and unable to turn. Manually dislodged impeller on the pump and it is now operating. Ran an express wash cycle and monitored operations. Washer is operational again but issue will continue to grow worse, with regards to leaking and noises/balance issues. Tech explained findings to the customer and provided a quote for a new front tub, both tub weights, 6 tub bolts, and a replacement drain pump.
