"Customer states unit wont power on. Confirmed 240 to dryer. While using all dolly, removed stacked dryer. Removed rear panel. Thermostat had opened. Reset thermostat. Tested. Unit powered on. Shut unit off and reinstalled. Unit unpowered. Pulled unit back out. Found heater intermittently grounding. Plugged meter to heater wiring, no volts to heater when heater is on with unit shut off. Needs new heater.; ordrng 1 350362 (ELEMENT - HEATING)"

Jacob has been out to our home twice in the last three months for different appliances. In late December our 15-year-old Cabrio washing machine was causing us problems, Jacob came out and gave us the repair estimate after diagnosing the issue. He advised the repair cost would be comparable to purchasing a new machine and with our washer being 15 years old we could be looking at additional issues down the road after the repair. He was also able to answer questions on brand reliability on a replacement washer. Then in February, our 15-year-old Bosch dishwasher upper control panel/handle broke and the repair would cost around 60-70% of a new Bosch washer. Jacob explained Bosch is a good brand and they last quite a while; however, the control panel/handle design had cause issues and Bosch redesigned the controls and handles on their machines. After Jacob patiently answered many questions, we made the decision to purchase a new machine. We were only charged the service call fees, which was extremely reasonable for the time he was with us. We have used Hometown Hero over the last few years and would not consider going anywhere else. We trust them.

Company was able to have someone out for diagnosis same day. He was very kind and knowledgeable, explained what was wrong and provided the estimate. Repair was completed within a week of original assessment was done. Both times our technician was courteous of our house and friendly. My household definitely recommends these guys!

Cole spent quite a bit of time diagnosing the problem, but was pleasant throughout and got it right. He came back a couple of days later with the replacement part, and the washer has worked great since.

Koby did a warranty repair on our refrigerator. He knew right away what was wrong with it. Koby read the description of our issue before arriving and made a trip back to the office in order to bring the part with him the first time. He explained what was wrong and had it fixed quickly. He was friendly and knowledgeable about the repair.

Can I get a quote first? Our $149 service fee (for most areas & appliances) covers the in-home diagnosis of your appliance by one of our expert technicians. They will provide a complete estimate before any work is done. We collect at the time of service by credit card (with a 3% convenience charge), check (processed electronically), or cash (our techs don’t carry change).
You must have a smartphone with a camera, although no special software is required.
The focus of this appointment is a diagnosis, not repair. If it’s simple and we can repair it by instructing you, fantastic! But the primary intent is to give you an idea of the failure, and whether it makes sense to pursue repair options.
Since the focus is the diagnosis of the product and we want to keep you safe, no tools or disassembly are allowed during this appointment.
We can only inspect and make recommendations for one appliance per appointment, in order to make sure we’re on time for other customers’ appointments.
If we can provide a likely diagnosis, we are happy to provide a repair estimate, or even quote parts that are needed for the repair (which you can purchase from our parts store, either for local pickup or flat rate shipping).
Since we aren’t there, we can’t guarantee the diagnosis. We’ll do our best, but the most accurate diagnosis is in person, in front of the machine.
If you decide to have us out after the virtual appointment (and you’re located within our service areas) we will happily apply this virtual diagnostic fee toward an in-home visit.
