Disappointed with the diagnostic approach.
I scheduled a service call for my Kenmore Elite refrigerator, which wasn't cooling properly. The
technician quickly concluded that the compressor was "running inefficiently" and recommended
replacement - but did not perform any of the standard diagnostic procedures. There was no amp
draw test, no pressure reading, no inspection of the start relay, condenser fan, or evaporator frost
pattern.
As a customer, I expected a complete and careful evaluation before being told I might need an
expensive repair. Without proper testing, this felt more like speculation than a reliable diagnosis. I've
since learned that other components - like a faulty start relay or fan - can cause similar symptoms
and are much less costly to fix.
This experience left me questioning the accuracy of the assessment. I hope the company
encourages a more thorough diagnostic process in the future
