"Customer states that the freezer is cooling properly and that the fridge is not. Tech confirmed and found infrared readings of -3 in the freezer at 60+ degrees in the fresh food. Tech disassembled fridge as much as he can (this model requires both fresh food doors to be removed in order for the evaporator cover to be completely removed) and found that the evaporator has become a block of ice. Entered service mode and took measurements of thermistors. Fresh food evaporator thermistor is reading 87 degrees. Room sensor is reading 57 and all 9 other sensors are reading accurately. Tech verified that the evaporator fan is operating correctly and tried to run forced defrost of the fresh food compartment. Relay on pcb is heard activating, but the 'on' message never occurs. Tried the freezer forced defrost and 'on' is properly displayed and flashes to indicate that mode selection is proper. Defrost/evaporator thermistor is out of spec and main pcb relay system is not working correctly to do the defrost cycle, even when in manual mode. Checked parts availability and found that thermistors for the fridge are only available as part of the evaporator cover. Main pcb is NLA."

Customer eventually unplugged washer for a while, then plugged it back in; which initiated a drain sequence. Tech plugged washer in and found 1 error code stored. Tried to run diagnostics and machine is unable to detect if the lid is locked or not. Lock is physically working. Went to manual test modes and found that the washer won't do anything (even though lid lock is not required for these tests). Water will not fill, agitation won't occur, drain pump won't engage, and spin won't even attempt. Display just continually flashes on the 6 segment LED display. "Customer states that fridge stopped cooling. Machine was manufactured in 11/2017. Checked fresh food evaporator and leak check shows bubbling occurring from fins near the accumulator. Tech checked customers owners manual and manual shows 7yrs of parts coverage. Tech double checked warranty through manufactures web page and warranty has been shortened to 5yrs. Called office and spoke to SM whom confirmed that LG retroactively changed their warranty without notice and will no longer get honor their 7yr warranties. Provided quote to customer for new ff evaporator, filter drier, compressor and necessary parts. Compressor coverage is still active. Customer declined quote and wants to talk with LG directly to try to rectify this problem. Job is complete."

Customer states unit is not cooling. States had someone else who diagnosed it as compressor. Temps are currently 77 and 39. Compressor and condenser fan are running but evap fan is not. Customer states he had heard a noise that stopped when doors were opened. Evap motor shuts off when door is opened. Removed evap cover. Heavy frost accumulation on top of evap but almost none at bottom indicating no airflow is being pulled across evaporator. Measured 13vdc to fan but it does not run. Fan is also almost seized. Left cover off and evaporator developed full frost pattern. Will need new evap cover with fan. Customer approved repair. Ran for part. Returned. Customer had decided not to proceed. Collected service call.

Ice maker will need air handler kit. Put in diagnostics. Ran evap motor. Ran damper to open. No airflow. Checked evap thermistor. Giving a readout of 48 degrees. Removed evap cover. Evap plugged with ice and is about 0 degrees. Ran heater it comes on. Thermistor is way out of spec causing unit not to defrost properly. Unit will need evap thermistor. No repair at this time.

Unit getting an f8 e4 overflow error. Found that leak tray was full of water tripping the float switch. Emptied out leak tray and ran dishwasher. Ran unit for 15 minutes and it did not leak. Spoke with customer and they had several large platters on the bottom rack towards the front and what likely happened was the water was deflecting off of them towards the bottom of the door causing it to leak and run into the leak tray. No issue found with unit. Job complete.
